Button with Link to a Display

This guide will instruct you on how to add a Button component and a Redirect service and how to add an action so that when you click on the Button you will be redirected to another Display.

  1. Add a Button component from the Components menu in the Toolbox.

  2. Change the text presented on the Button.
Select the Button, go to the Properties section and the Label Field. Replace the text “Button” with a text of your choice.

  3. Resize the Button to a desired size by dragging the handle in the Buttons right side. The mouse pointer will turn to a double ended arrow when you hover over the handle.
Position the Button by holding the right six dot handle and dragging it to the desired place.

  4. Add a Redirect service from the Services menu in the Toolbox. The Redirect service will now be visible in the Data Outline.

  5. Add an On Click event for the Button.

    1. Go to Data Outline > Services and select the Redirect service.
    2. Click on the plus (+) sign next to the Actions label and select “Redirect” in the dialog box that appears.
    3. Click on the Actions label to make the sub tab Redirect visible and then click on Redirect to expand the fields.
    4. Go to the Event parameter and select “Button1 - On Click”.

  6. Specify the Display to redirect to when the Button is clicked.

    1. Make sure the Redirect service is still selected.
    2. Under Actions > Redirect, click on the pen symbol Tag icon next to the Entity Id parameter and select the entity that you want a redirection to.

Finished Display

We have now added a Button component and a Redirect service. An action has been added to the Redirect service with a button-on-click event and a specified Display to redirect to. The result is a Display with a Button that when clicked takes you to another Display.
