The Designer Parts
The Designer provides an in-application toolbox for creating process displays, dashboards and components.
Opening in Designer
When opening a process display or a dashboard for editing it opens in Designer mode. On the top there are tools for the design surface.
Run - quick access to run mode
Design – switch back to design mode
Undo – revert the previous editing operation
Redo – redo the previous undone operation
Save the changes made to the display/dashboard and included, edited components
Adjust zoom level
Toolbox
The wrench symbol opens the Toolbox Panel containing Components, Services and Display Components.
Components
Components are made visible by clicking on the Components label. A number of standard components exists.
Services
Services are made visible by clicking on the Services label. Services can fetch and transform data.
Display Component Gallery
- List of all the display components available based on your privileges.
- You can use a display component by clicking on it in the list and it will appear in the display.
Property Panel
The hammer symbol opens the property panel. It can be used to the get data, update or set actions to the display component. Different sections are visible depending on what object is selected.
Properties
For each component, service and display there is a set of properties.

When an object in the display or Data Outline are marked a Properties section will appear

Write or bind the field to change the properties of the object
Events
Events are a way for the component to communicate back to its parent (e.g. the Snapshot).
- Events can carry information with itself
- Events are triggered using the trigger service
Data Outline
In the Data Outline all the parts in the display are shown.
- Use the Data Outline to move between the different parts of the display
- Mark an object in the Data Outline to open up Properties for that object.
Design Surface Quick Actions
When a component is selected there are buttons visible for quick actions.
Delete - deletes the selected component
Bring to front – bring the selected component to the front
Forward – bring the selected component forward
Back – move the selected component backward
Send to back – move the selected component to the back
Duplicate – make a copy of the selected component
