Upgrade

When upgrading an existing installation you should follow steps described below.

Upgrading a MOPS 4.0 System

1. Review upgrade notes for all releases from the currently installed version to the version being installed. Some releases may have specific upgrade instructions that need to be followed. These typically include configuration changes. Database changes gets covered by upgrade scripts run separately.
2. To make installation quicker an reduce system downtime, you should download container images for the new version. See downloading container images.
3. Create a full system backup before starting to make changes.
4. Either shut down the system and upgrade the directory database in-place or create a copy of it. See Directory Database Upgrade instructions.
5. If CMS is installed, follow the specific upgrade instructions for CMS as outlined in the CMS Upgrade Guide.
