Logging In and Logging Out
Once your user account have been added to the system, by the system administrator, you can navigate to the application URL from the browser. This may redirect you to a login page where you can provide your user name and password if requested.
Most commonly, the login will be using the same authentication system as Office 365 so you may not need to type your credentials.
This means that there is no login command to be invokes in MOPS 4.0, but rather that the authentication is handled by the Identity Provider (IdP) that is used by your organization. The IdP will then redirect you back to the MOPS 4.0 application with a token that is used to authenticate you in the MOPS 4.0 system.
If a single primary IdP is configured, users are redirected directly to that IdP’s login page instead of the IdP selection login page.
If you want to log out of the MOPS 4.0 system, you can do so by clicking on your user name in the top right corner of the screen and selecting the “Logout” option from the drop-down menu. This will log you out of the MOPS 4.0 system and redirect you back to the login page.
The Logout option in the user menu.
One reason for logging out is to switch user accounts. If you are using a shared computer or device, it is recommended to log out when you are done using the MOPS 4.0 system to ensure that your account is secure and that no one else can access your data. If you are using a personal computer or device, you may choose to stay logged in for convenience.
If the application’s Post Logout Redirect URI is configured with /signin at the end of the URL, users are redirected to the IdP selection page after logout, even if there is a single primary IdP. Additionally, if the Post Logout Redirect URI is configured with any other URI, users will first be redirected to the single primary IdP’s login page; else, if more than one primary IdP exists, to the IdP selection page—and then directed to the configured URL.
