Installation & Upgrade
Depending on from where you opened this documentation, you may already have completed some of the steps described below. If you opened this documentation from MOPS 4.0 documentation server you may have most of the steps below remaining.
Regardless of whether you will be making an upgrade of an existing system or installing a new system, you need to obtain the MOPS 4.0 deployment package.
Obtaining the MOPS 4.0 Deployment Package
Deployment packages for MOPS 4.0 is obtained from MOPSsys. There is currently no public download for this.
The deployment package is a folder containing the following:
- Getting-started documentation.
- Database definition files for the database(s) to be configured.
- Templates for configuration files. These templates are used by the setup script to create the actual configuration files to be used.
- Tools to assist in setup and configuration.
After downloading the package you may continue to installing a new system or upgrading an existing installation.
Installing a MOPS 4.0 System
When installing a MOPS 4.0 system there are a few prerequisite steps that need to be completed before installing the actual MOPS 4.0 software.
- MOPS 4.0 runs on Windows Server 2022 and Windows Server 2025. Requirements for setting up the server may differ depending on workload and the number of installed module but a typical system requirements configuration is provided as reference.
- If an identity provider such as Microsoft Entra ID or Active Directory Federation Services these should be prepared prior to installation, or optionally install the system using only the embedded identity provider.
- Follow the installation guide.
Upgrading a MOPS 4.0 System
When upgrading an existing installation you should follow steps described in the Upgrade manual.
